Assistant Professor (non-tenure track)

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute is searching for an outstanding Biomechanical Engineer to join the Department at the 
Assistant Professor level in the non-tenure track. The individual will be responsible to direct the Microcomputed Tomography (μCT) and Biomechanics Core at UConn Health, a core supported by the University of Connecticut.

The Biomechanical Engineer will be able to develop independent research projects, collaborate with scientists working in various aspects of skeletal biology, biomedical and regenerative engineering and provide service work related to μCT and Biomechanics Core.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine has a highly interactive research environment with interdisciplinary graduate and medical science training programs.  The Musculoskeletal Institute offers a collegial and supportive environment and houses investigators working on various aspects of skeletal cell biology and biomechanics of bone.  There is ample opportunity to interact/work with basic and physician scientists.
